Our Legacy

With a legacy steeped in centuries of Swiss craftsmanship, the Sandoz family began its journey in the art of jewelry and clockmaking, laying the foundation for the future of horology. Over time, its commitment to precision and quality deepened, transforming Swiss excellence into its greatest strength.

Henri Sandoz, the architect of the Sandoz empire and founder of the eponymous brand, devoted himself to the delicate art of Swiss horology, transforming traditional craftsmanship into a hallmark of distinction. A visionary in his own right, Henri Sandoz soon became an architect of numerous flagship creations. His ambitious vision and innovative skill, passed down through generations, reached a landmark moment when the brand, carrying his legacy, earned a rare honor from the Neuchâtel Observatory. This recognition placed the Sandoz name among Switzerland’s finest - an accolade that remains rare in the industry.

Family Crest

The Sandoz Crest of Arms stands as a powerful emblem of the principles that define the Sandoz family. Historically, coats of arms carried the weight of lineage, and for the Sandoz family, their crest reflects their passion for dedication and visionary leadership.

Each motif holds a deep meaning. The strong arm and axe symbolize leadership, while the noble headdress, reserved for the righteous, represents respect and honor. These heraldic symbols are values lived, refined, and passed down through the ages.

Today, the Sandoz logo preserves this heritage, blending the family’s ethos with a commitment to excellence and innovation. Together, the crest and logo tell a unified narrative of innovation, craftsmanship, and a legacy dating back to the 16th century.

MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

Gregory Humair

Chief Executive Officer, Sandoz Since 1870

There are stories that deserve to be retold — not because time has erased them, but because their meaning has evolved. Sandoz is one of those stories.

When I first came across the legacy of Sandoz since 1870, I saw more than a name from the archives of watchmaking. I saw an idea — one rooted in craftsmanship, independence, and authenticity. A brand that once stood for precision and artistry, and that could again speak powerfully to a new generation who values substance as much as style.

Having spent more than two decades in the international watch industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with talented teams and visionary brands across markets and cultures. Those experiences have shaped how I lead — by bringing together creativity and strategy, heritage and innovation, and above all, people with passion and purpose. It’s through collaboration that ideas become reality, and that’s exactly how this new chapter of Sandoz began.

I approached Rodolphe Cattin, a masterful designer whose career has shaped some of the most distinctive creations in modern horology. Together, we shared a belief that true watchmaking — honest, refined, and design-led — should be accessible without compromise. Our vision was not to recreate the past, but to redefine what accessible watchmaking can mean today: timeless design, authentic craftsmanship, and honest value.

From that partnership, the new Sandoz since 1870 was born — a brand that bridges heritage and modern mastery, remaining proudly independent, rooted in its origins, and guided by a clear purpose: to create timepieces that combine design, precision, and lasting relevance.

Each watch we craft reflects a balance of precision and personality — made for those who choose meaning over status, and confidence over convention. This relaunch is not about nostalgia; it is about continuity — carrying forward more than 150 years of know-how into a modern world where individuality and authenticity define true value.

To everyone discovering or rediscovering Sandoz: welcome. You are part of this new chapter — one written with respect for time, and with belief in the value of doing things the right way. Independent since 1870. Time crafted for those who define their own.
