Sandoz Watch Care & Maintenance

Sandoz timepieces are crafted with a legacy of excellence, innovation, and precision. Follow these essential care tips to preserve the performance and durability of your watch.

2. Crown Care

Always ensure the crown is tightly closed after use to prevent water or moisture from entering the case. Avoid turning the crown or pulling it out if the watch is wet. This can allow water to enter the case. If you notice condensation inside, contact an authorized retailer. Depending on the model, the crown may need to be either pressed or screwed down.

3. Shock Protection

While durable, your Sandoz watch is sensitive to strong impacts, drops, or vibrations. Handle with care to maintain precision.

4. Magnetic Interference

Keep your watch away from strong magnetic sources like phones, speakers, and other electronic devices to maintain accurate timekeeping.

5. Exposition aux produits chimiques

Évitez tout contact direct avec les solvants, parfums, détergents, cosmétiques et agents nettoyants agressifs. Ces substances peuvent endommager le boîtier, le bracelet, les joints et les composants internes au fil du temps.

6. Leather Strap Care

Leather straps require special attention. To keep them in top condition:

  • Avoid contact with water and humidity to prevent discoloration.
  • Protect from prolonged sunlight exposure to prevent fading.
  • Keep away from greasy substances and cosmetics, as leather is permeable.
  • Do not use leather cleaners; if needed, visit an authorized retailer for assistance.

7. Metal Bracelet Care

For metal bracelets, seek professional adjustment to prevent injury. Take care when using pocket or pendant watches, as chains may catch or cause damage.

8. Winding & Usage

For automatic watches, wear them regularly or wind them periodically to keep the movement running smoothly. Hand-wound mechanical watches should be wound daily by turning the crown until resistance is felt.

9. Regular Servicing

Routine maintenance ensures longevity. Service intervals vary based on usage and environmental factors.

10. Safe Storage

Store your watch in a pouch or box when not in use to protect it from dust, moisture, and scratches. Store your watch in a cool place, ideally between 15-25o Celsius.

11. Safety Precautions

  • If the case or bracelet has sharp edges from corrosion or exposed pins, stop using the watch immediately.
  • Keep the watch and accessories away from children or infants to avoid swallowing hazards.
  • Seek medical help if any small parts are swallowed.

12. Battery Information

Do not attempt to remove the battery yourself; visit an authorized retailer for replacements. Using regular silver oxide batteries may lead to overheating, causing the watch to burst or catch fire.

13. Usage Conditions

Avoid wearing or storing your watch in the following conditions:

  • Fume-filled areas (e.g., nail polish remover)
  • Extreme temperatures (below 5ºC or above 35ºC)
  • Strong magnetic fields, high static electricity, or excessive vibration
  • High humidity or dusty environments

14. Allergic Reactions

In case of allergic reactions, remove the watch and consult a dermatologist or allergist.

15. Watch Modifications

Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the watch, as this may compromise its function and safety.

16. Battery & Case Disposal

Dispose of used batteries and cases following local environmental regulations.

19. Sauna & Bath

Use Avoid wearing the watch in saunas or while bathing, as steam, soap, and bathwater can compromise water resistance.

21. Harsh Chemicals & Cleaners

Avoid exposing your watch to harsh chemicals or cleaners, as these can damage the finish, seals, and internal components.

22. High-Pressure Exposure

Exposure to high pressure, like deep water or extreme temperatures, can affect the durability and functionality of your watch.
